Aside from cherry blossoms, there are other natural settings that will enrich the visit to this town. Some of them include the ocean view from Imaihama, one of the most beautiful beaches in Izu, and the many waterfalls, including the Seven Falls of Kawazu.
Kawazu Town has single-day onsen facilities and foot baths visitors can stop by for a quick dip. They can be enjoyed throughout the year.
The Kawazu-zakura cherry blossoms have become famous for being one of the earliest-blooming cherry blossoms in Tokyo's outlying areas. (Typically, cherry trees bloom in Tokyo between late March and early April.)
The outstanding characteristics of Kawazu-zakura are its large petals and the bright pink color. There are 8,000 cherry trees in Kawazu. "The Kawazu-zakura Cherry Blossom Festival" is held during the blooming season and is visited by a million Japanese and foreign tourists.
